MW' Mr Iohn George Ir We the graduatxng class of 1956 happ1ly ded1cate the 1956 PAI to Mr Iohn George Ir Vlce Pr1nc1pa1 of Tamalpals 1-hgh School Slnce 1931 when Mr George f1fS1 came to Tam he has been vxtally mterested 1n the welfare of the students He has helped many students w1th the1r problems and has been a frlend to everyone Mr George started teachlng Iournahsm and HlSfOI'Y Wh11e he was ad visor of The Tam News the paper rece1ved several nat1ona1 honors lust three years ago Mr George was appomted VICE Prxnc1pa1 He has done a marvelous 1ob as boys representative and seelng that the students get a good educatlon Mr George formerly taught 1n Oregon before comm to Mann County to teach at Tam He rece1ved h1s MA from Stanford 1n 1991 We the class oi 1956 want the students to recognlze what a great asset Mr George IS to Tam For th1s reason we are honored to ded1cate th1s book to a very deserving man r . ,. SENIOR FAREWELL Well senlors It s here at last After four years of seemlngly hard work we ve flnally made It we re the graduatlng clss of l956 And yet semors these four years have passed by qulckly Memorles are st1ll w1th us because 1t seems lust l1ke yesterday Remember when we were Just enrolllng as the lowest of all classmen Freshmen? We staggered around rn a daze that f1rst day w1th our Wh1te course cards looslng our way among the lmmenslty of Tam The thr1ll of our flrst rally w1th Bob Sapp as Student Body Presldent the wlnnmg of the B1g Game over San Rafael And the later fabulous spr1ng semester w1th Dayton Drake as prexy were all a part of our freshmen year Then came the year when we were cocky sophomores We knew our way around by then and made hfe mlserable for the new Frosh We had a new prmclpal that year but we can t forget that tearful farewell to Mr Russell Remember that wonderful Sophomore Dance Aprll m Parls 7 It was really an outstandlng year Wllh Tom Decker and Mac McNe1l as our Student Body Pres1dents Fmally we were Upperclassmen We at last had a chance to go on sk1 tnps only to break our legs lt was 1n th1s memorable year that our wxn nmg streak was broken and we lost the B1g Game to San Rafael Thls was made up though when our swlmmxng team won the N C S first place t1tle Don t forget our Iunlor Prom to the dancrng of Ray Hackett s Band 1n Tams Study Hall Our presxdents for that year were Iud Foreman and M1ke Durne We were all moamng over the loss of all the Senlors th1nk1ng how horrlble 1t would be wlthout them But then we became SENIORS and the loss wasnt so bad because now we had our b1g chance Remember our terr1l1c Sen1or Plays The Man Who Came to Dmner and Iumor Mrss They were both b1g successes Our class pres1dents were Wendy Harper and Hank Lecy Remember the B1g Game Week before the Drake football game w1th the ftnal crownmg of Ianet Moormg as queen of the dance wh1ch followed Yes th1s was the greatest year of all w1th Larry Dav1s and Wes I-l1ldreth as Student Body Pres1dents The last week of school was really great wasnt It cl1maxed w1th the Sen1or Ball m the St FIGDCIS Hotel But all good thmgs must end and w1th the stralns of Pomp and Cxrcumstances rmgmg 1n our ears we marched up and recelved our d1plomas know1ng that thxs was probably the last tune our class would ever be together Wxth these fond memor1es w1th us we the class of 1956 b1d Tam a fmal f rewell wt tlfl QLL Xjlf fl LY Q CVMQ fyxl, 1 ull w wld! f t 'aw 1 P Cl K ,,1 lf tw qt ffl fb, 'nl jfbtvt 'll L fl !
