The hand plays at all the games, Wfhile the cheerleaders shout out their aims. The crowd goes wild as the teams begin To battle out another win. Sports in our school are a must, Wir. or lose, they build up trust. Helen Diuelbo l . X ul .A ' , .rf METRO CHAMPS The football team was the pride of Tallmadge this year. Looking over the season you'll see the reasons why it was our pride. It brought us team spirit, school spirit, and community spirit. Look over the games of the season, see the chain of victories and look at the very first game of the year. There, staring you in the face, you see our only defeat. A defeat by a team that was, by all means, not the best. Yet this game may have been the cause of it all. It might have been this very game that gave us the fighting spirit to triumph over all, for after that defeat we met Wadsworth, Coventry, Stow, and the rest of the schedule with one victory after another. We left our last year's only pitfall, Rittman, with a stinging defeat. Then came the two mighty win or die games. Springfield, with its unscored upon record, loomed before us. Challenging us to-if we dare-score on them. It took a lot to make them fall, but still another game stood between us and the championship. Those who saw the Ellet game can well remember that feeling of not having enough to take the Orangemen. But they also remember the fighting spirit and drive that brought us back into the game and to the championship. To the seniors we say farewell. You played the game like champs and as a reward you are champs. To the rest of the team we say keep this fighting spirit and may it carry you, too, to championship. And to the team, our hats are off to you. May this be a fitting tribute to you and your job well done. Now you have a memory you may keep forever. A memory of football and a hard earned championship. :JD 'N-J Q ,J val' tg, 1952 SCHEDULE Tallmadge O North Canton 6 Tallmadge 19 Wadsworth 14 Tallmadge 20 Coventry 12 NWN Tallmadge 19 Stow 7 I-rf., Tallmadge 41 Kent State 0 ...M-h Tallmadge 25 Norton 12 Tallmadge 45 Rittman 0 Tallmadge 9 Springfield 6 Tallmaclge 7 Ellet 6 Affillggers C uf ' ns Carre, and Ro 861- H ender SOU Firrt mu' Neff lo riglatl: Roger Henderson fmgrj, Dave Norris, Dick Twigg, john Doepker, Gale Stem, Lynn Burks, Keith Yoho, john Williamson, Don Freed, jim Gardner, Marvin Bond, Curtis Carter fmgr.J Second rout jim Brislinger, Ted Parsons, Ken Riley, Steve Huher, Eugene Ilg.
