S IHS CLASS PROPHECY Homecoming 1963 At last the graduatmg class of 1953 will be tog e the r again Ten years is a long time, many events have taken p lac e since those happy go lucky kids bade fa rewe ll after the Senior Trip to New Orleans There w a s much rejoicing as old classmates were recognized Names have been changed but faces are the same The halls again rang with fam1l1ar laughter After reglsterlng the group assembled in the auditorium The choral club presented a musical program under the direction of Sally Taylor and her assistant Iennett Stephenson Both were active in choral work while in high school Noon The mad rush to the cafeter1a not even the sands of time could change that A dehcious lunch was served by Mattie Lou Martin and her efficient staff After lunch the students were ushered out to the front steps by two teachers on hall duty Mavis Dyke the girls Physical Education Director and Bobby King of the Industrial Arts Department As the bell rang to begin afte rnoon classes the Class of 53 met for a class meeting in the Homemaking Department with Mary Dryden the Homemaking teacher as hostess The meeting for once was carried on in an orderly fashion Mr Giddens and Miss Kyzer would have been pleasantly surprised Melba Hearron a very effxcient secretary took minutes of the meeting the following Doyle Price a wealthy cattleman and his wife Wanda of Dallas Jean Russell and her twin sons of Longview Cynthia Ritcherson Registered Nurse of Mt Pleasant Miss Cornelius also interviewed Joyce Richeson the school secretary When the meeting adJournedG1lbert Burks invited all his ole classmates to visit his theater where the latest movie of Marilyn Monroe and Jack Smith was having its Premier After bemg most hand some boy in Talco High for three years Jack went to Hollywood as a top movie actor Time for pep rally was drawing near and Jerry Worden hurried to finish his work Thanks to his pull with the school board Jerry 1 s now Janitor Pep r alll e s are still held in the gym The Trojan spirit has not dimmed s1nce the yea r the Blg Six le d Fifteen For Coach at each pep rally The guest speaker Jimmy Stewart, proprietor of The Trojan Sporting Goods Store had a hard time read ing the notes p re pa re d by his secretary Patsy Swope He tried to start his collection of Athletic equipme n t while in high school but Lu Worthington and I M.
