What a challenge it is to the parents, teachers, and patrons to prepare youth for Tomorrows World. Where father had a dozen opportunities to get a start on his own responsibility when a youth, son has a thousand, but son must be definitely smarter than father was. He must be a better student of world affairs, he must be able to think and talk the language of educated men and women, he must be able to make quick decisions, and he must be alert every minute to take advantage of such opportunities as may come to him for the promotion of his interest and the interests of his fellow man. In other words, it takes more education, more intelligent work, greater vision, and more concentrated and consecrated effort to succeed today than it did twenty- five years ago. We believe that the homes, churches, co- m unity, and the school in Talco are joining forces in preparing the youth of Talco for the responsibilities of adult living. Let us keep up the good work and in time we shall see better homes, churches, communities, and a better Talco. C Sincerely, ofa! Everything about ' t that the physical condition of our school is wonderful and ye is not the real school. The students and the facultyg the course of study and the spirit of the student body are the real school. We have made some wonderful progress toward the goal which we set for ourselves. First of all a higher standard of scholarship in which we recognize that only the best worn is worthy of an American citizen. Second, we have grown in school spirit. A friendly, cheerful attitude in which we have recogn- ized that we are happier and can accomplish more through friendly cooperation. Third, we have taxen a step toward real democracy through our Student Council. 'Through the assumption of extra responsibility real leaders are developed. Fourth, we are laying the plans together Epr a bigger and better year in 1946-1947. Seniors, we thank you for your leadership. You will be missed next year and we shall always remember you for the study you made and the help you gave in building on a sound founda- ' 9 tion of real citizenship. . -. ' , 7 deja! 1- . F. W. Dr. Beri Stockton Mrs. Case is deaf and temperamental, and is about to bestow the l1on's share of her S100,QOO,GOQ upon Lance, her favorite nephew. Because of her deafness she is unaware that Lance is a worthless scoundrel. She showers many klndnesses upon him, letting the point of her vlbrlolic tongue fall heavy upon her lonely niece, Lance's cousin, Velena, who being a gentlewoman, will not betray Lance nor allow her young lawyer fiance, Ruddy Boles, to do so either. All would have gone well for Lance except for the timely arrival of two quack doctors who agree to cure Mrs. Case's deafness. They heal her ears by a very peculiar and amusing method. Lance, unaware that Auntie has recovered her hearing, talks a little too much. Simple minded Berthanna, the housemald is just a wee bit perplexed by all these activities. 2Zdsfz'a5e, On February iS, 1946, the following officers and representative? were elecbedz OFFICERS: Pres., Gene Dixon, Vice-Pres., James Hearrong Secre- tary, June Sullivan.
