The Senior Class of Talbot County High School presents THE 1970 HORNET Table of Contents Dedication Administration Faculty Students Sports Music Organizations Advertisements 2 We, the Seniors of 1970, wish to dedicate the yearbook to Mr. Frank Alexander in recognition of: (1) Fifteen years of service on the Talbot County Board of Education. (2) Eight years of service as Vice-chairman of the Tal- bot County Board of Education. (3) His participation and interest in the Forestry program of the Talbot County High School. (4) His friendship, generosity, loyalty, and dedicated service to students and teachers of the Talbot County High School. (5) His concern for the future of education in our county. We deeply appreciate one who has given so generously of his time. 3 efforts, and abilities. The quiet classrooms, the crowded halls, the patient teachers, and the very active students are the makings and the memories of Talbot County High School. We, the Annual Staff and the Senior Class of 1970, hope that as you leaf through the pages of the 1970 HORNET,- you will relive some of the fond moments of your life at school. It has been not only an experience but an honor to be associated with such a qualified staff and advisor. Iwouldlike to extend my thanks to every faculty member and student for his patience and cooperation in making this yearbook possible. 4 The Annual Staff Editor: BEVERLY ATTAWAY Co-Sports Editor: MEREDITH JORDAN Business Manager: TOM CALLIER Co-Sports Editor: WAYNE ANTHONY Classes Editor: LORRAINE GOOLSBY Photographer: EDWIN WHITTEN Organizations Editor: PAM DAVIS Typist: PATSY COLWELL Activities Editor: LARRY HALL Advisor: MRS. RUTH WESTON 5 For your work in advising the Annual Staff For your tireless efforts as a teacher For your concern for all the students 6 We, the Annual Staff of 1970, say Thank you! Our Superintendent The students of the Talbot County School System deeply appreciate the wonderful work Mr. Hendricks does in managing our schools. We realize that Talbot County High School would be non-existent without the devoted work of Mr. Hendricks and his excel- lent staff. It is rare for a school superintendent to be as dedicated as Mr. Hendricks. A Our Principal With all the duties and responsibilities that Mr. Hobbs has, he has always remained a patient leader and a personal friend to each of his students. He is never too busy to help any student with a problem. He actively supports all Talbot County High School endeavors. An example of this would be those cold mornings that he carried students to compete in literary meets. The students of Talbot County High School deeply appreciate the time and effort that Mr. Hobbs spends in making our school a success. 9 Secretary - Mrs. Massey Curriculum Director - Mrs. Alsobrook Secretary - Mrs. Hobbs Title I Clerk - Mrs. Pope Dietitian - Mrs. Posey 2 3 S 6 9 io ii n u 16 17 18 19 20 2i 2« 2S 26 27 Jl ' 1.
