Educators agree that the purpose of education is to train people how to live properly. You realize, of course, that on the high school level we can only provide the basic foundation or the first step of the process. How successful your life becomes, depends almost entirely upon the completion of your training with further vocational study or work on the college level. In the highly specialized world of today, the demand for non-ski lied labor is almost non-existent. In order to insure your own personal happiness as well as preserve our democratic way of life, it is imperative that you prepare yourself to the best of your ability and to the highest degree possible. It is my sincere wish that you will accept this challenge and become well-trained citizens of the future. LYMAN D. If you were to study a time line, you would discover that man existed for tens of thousands of years before the wheel was invented. Several thousand years later he trained the horse to speed up his travel. Then in the last one hundred years he has developed the locomotive, the autombile, the airplane, and in the last TEN years he has broken the sound barrier and orbited in space. Soon man will reach the moon. As we look into the future, our school faces a role, second to none, in preparing you for your endeavors. In fact, with these rapid developments, today's high school education will not be adequate for tomorrow's . . . Principal world — you must continue to learn. Flight engineering, a job created during your generation, is already obsolete while new jobs, many that you have never heard of, are being created each year. Every minute of your learning experience in school is of paramount importance. Our staff is doing a better job than ever before, and you are realizing your tremendous responsibility for QUALITY EDUCATION. ALBERT F.
