SENIOR CLASS HISTORY kV w 7 In September of 1956, we entered school as 50 scared, wide-eyed, wondering freshmen. After a few days we thought things were going swell. Then came initiation. This convinced us of the superiority of the upper-classmen. Leading us through this uncertain year as president was Judy Markus. Among our activities during the year we held a dance honoring the seniors . . . because we enjoyed initiation so much! Several more talented members of our class took part in the all-school play, Years Ago. The year ended with us gaining enough confidence to want to come back as sophomores. September of 1957 found 53 of us once again roaming the halls of Tahoma. This year Christy Litras was selected as our president. During this year students again took part in the all-school play, The Perfect Idiot and the all-school musical, Smoky Mountain. As a money making project we held a pie auction with Bill Pewitt as our auctioneer. We didn't make much money, but we had fun. We brought the year to a close — a picnic at Lake Francis. As juniors we were once again 50 in number, and Larky Mc-Kittrick was our president. The big highlight of the year was the Junior-Senior Prom, sponsored by both classes in the latter part of March. The theme was Gateway to the Stars. The dance drew many favorable comments and was a beautiful climax to the end of the year. Among the activities this year were the Junior-Senior Prom, the Junior-Senior Banquet, and the Senior play which brought the class together as a unit to continue through the year. It was hard work putting it together, but it was fun and we will always remember it. After twelve years of schooling we are now ready to step out into the world of today. Some will find jobs, some will marry, and some will continue on to college, but, whatever we do, it will be in the modern world of today—the Space Age. v 7x By Larky McKittrick A
