Commercial: One of Miss Borgeson's typing classes concentrates on an assignment. Commercial courses offered at TaHoMa include shorthand, beginning and advanced typing, filing, and bookkeeping. Science: Mr. Isaacson looks on as sophomores Vernye Hunt and Dennis Clemm-ens perform a biology experiment. TaHoMa's science department offers biology, general science, physics, and geoiogy. Study: The marked growth in classes did not leave out study halls. Shown is Mr. Moore's fourth period study which held nearly fifty students. Manual Arts; Shown here at the lathe are Mr. Arbogast and junior Jack Martin, who is putting the finishing touches on one of his shop projects. Other manual arts classes are agriculture shop and wood shop drawing.

Home Economics: Mrs. Sullivan assists Susan Markham, freshman, in sewing. The state has rearranged the home economics curriculum to include one quarter of sewing, one quarter of cooking, and a semester of family relations and related subjects. ,anguage: Mrs. Haas leads the first year jerman students in choral speaking, rhis year was the first year German vas taught at TaHoMa. Emphasis was given to vocabulary and pronunciation. English: Mrs. Herrin gives individual help In her freshman English class. Four years of English are offered to TaHoMa students. Senior English, although not required, is a college preparatory class. Journalism: Mr. Ziegner, journalism teacher, explains operation of journalism's new Gestetner mimeographing machine to Patty Dorn and June Bergsma, seniors from his advanced journalism class. The machine was purchased by the journalism students from funds raised through advertising and subscriptions.
