IS TOLU BY THE mm, STIFF One of the first sights which greeted Tahoma Teddy as he returned to school in September was a meeting of part of Tahoma’s faculty in the teachers’ favorite ’’hide out, the Home Ec. Room. At first Tahoma Teddy thought: There they are again, thinking of ways to torment the students and me during the year. As a matter of fact, however, Tahoma's teachers educate as well as seemingly torment. They are well-trained, qualified people. Tahoma's curriculum offers all of the basic subjects and is fully accredited by the state department of education. Graduates of Tahoma who enter colleges and universities do well. So here is the faculty on this and the following pages- In completing your high school education you have exercised one of the privileges of a democracy. You have taken advantage of the opportunity to attain a foundation which will be significant In your future associations with all mankind. Let it be hoped that you have attained your full share of what we offer here so that you are better prepared to take your station as a worthy citizen. LLOYD H. PEIEBE B.S., E.E. University of Washington As your KI-AH-YU for 1957 depicts the seasons of the year, may each of you be reminded that In your life It is only the spring time that has unrolled. It is my sincere hope that as the other spans of your life follow in natural sequence that you will look back to your high school days with pleasure and profit. OREN C. In that year they defeated the Renton B squad for their lone win of the season. In the 1956-57 season the Bears snapped a three-season, 13 game losing streak, winning three of their seven games. We weren't lucky enough to escape Freshman Initiation. We got the works! This was our first taste of high school life. Among our many activities that year were several skating-parties and a Christmas party. Our class officers were Louie Herrin, president; Monte McKittrick, vice-president; Judy Huselton, secretary; Wanda Flint, trea -surer. By the end of the year we were only sixty in number. Climaxing the year was our class picnic which was held at Pipe Lake. In our Sophomore year we lost three and came back as fifty-seven. We started the year right off with skating parties. Many roles in the all-school play were taken by members of our class. Class officers Sophomore year were Monte McKittrick, president; Ron Nickell, vice-president; Mary Linda DuFrane, Gail Barrett, treasurer. The year was ended with our class picnic. several in our secretary; In 1956, our Junior year, we found ourselves reduced to fifty-five members. Again this year many members of our class participated in the all-school play entitled, The Perfect Idiot. We also helped put on the school carnival.
