This annual is dedicated to the Tahoma graduating seniors of 1956. Here's how to use it— If you ever have need of knowledge, look at the faculty section and you may recall something you were taught. If you don't, remember there are other teachers in life including experience which is probably the best teacher of all. Profit from it. If you want to know how your classmates looked in their high school days, look at the sections of individual pictures. If life gets rough, relax. Look at the sections devoted to activities and sports and even at the Snoop Shots . Remember the fun you once had and try to recapture it no matter where you are or what you are doing. If you want to buy something, look at the advertising section, of course. So take this annual with you along with our warmest congratulations and our best hopes for the future. We all seem to be happy to get out but will miss our teachers, the activities, our classmates, and friends. We started out our Freshman year 47 strong. We escaped Freshman initiation but didn't escape all the strange things that were happening. Everything was new and different to us. Our first activity of the year was a skating party which was a huge success. Several of our class members were selected for roles in the all-school play, A Date with Judy . Officers this year were Tom Nickell, President; Stuart Fetters, Vice-President; Gary Habenicht, Secretary; Bert Hedin, Treasurer. Mr. Jensen was our adviser. We also selected our class flower and colors which are Blue and White and White Carnation. By the end of the year we were only 44 in number and we ended the year with a picnic at Lake Meridian. In our Sophomore year we gained two again and came back as 46. We started out this year with a big crash by giving the first skating party of the year. Our Sophomore year kept us busy, too. Again we had quite a few members in the all-school play, The Night of January 16 . By the end of the year we were only 42 in number. Officers this year were Tom Nickell, President; Bert Hedin, Vice-President; Gary Habenicht, Secretary; Florence Harshfield, Treasurer. Mr. Jensen again was our class adviser. We ended the year with a class picnic at Lake Meridian. Forty-three of us came back for our Junior year. We again gave a skating party during the first semester. The highlight of the year was the Junior-Senior Prom which was held at Lake Wilderness. Our class again had a great number in the all-school play, Our Miss Brooks . We ended the year with a picnic at Lake Wilderness. Officers this year were Larry LeGrande, President;Ron Eberle, Vice-President; Kathy Tanner, Secretary; Kay Allen, Treasurer. Mr. Boesel was our adviser. Thirty-five came back for our final year. It wasn't long until we were only 32 in number. The first thing we did was initiate and welcome the Freshman into the school that we will be leaving soon. On December 16, we gave very successfully our Senior Play entitled, Quit Your Kidding . It was a three-act comedy and everyone enjoyed it. We also had a good representation in the all-school play, The Perfect Idiot . In the spring we went on our Senior Sneak and on June 6, 1956 we walked down the aisles for Graduation. Officers in our Senior year were Jim Burroughs, President; Ken Maxwell, Vice-President; Beth Webb, Secretary; Gary Lay, Treasurer. Mr. Boesel again was our adviser. This is the end of our high school days. We now have to go out into the world and lead our own lives whether we go on to school or get a job. We want to thank the faculty, students, parents, and friends who have made our graduation possible from such a wonderful school. -22— JUNIORS 'junior ’ Ron Nickell Mary Linda DuFrane Mike Ratigan Bev Smith Mary Simmons Barry Broxson Mickey Donnelly Glennda Nelson Jim Martin —27— Roger Bradley Eileen Howatson Nola Denney Jim Lancaster Qunion Richard Nieman Nancy Smith Newman Hemphill Zenda Pangburn Louie Herrin f f LeRoy Schaffer Jeanette Sams Wanda Flint —28— (ft ; Jim Burgess uni union Bruce Gould Shirlane Lewis , _ Dan Sutcliffe Shelby Lewis A Bob Hedin r ▼ 0V '4? This year the officers and the members with the help of their adviser, Mrs. Graeber, have made the Girls' Club a success. The main activites of the year were the Tolo on March 2, and the Girls' Club Mother and Daughter Banquet in May. They ended the year by helping to organize the All-School Picnic. Mary Simmons Treasurer Gary Habenicht President Monte McKittrick Vice-President The Boys' Club of 56 began the year with the largest membership in the history of the organization, 108 members. This year Mr. Moore was again unanimously elected adviser, making this the third year in which he has served in this capacity. Through these years Mr. Moore has witnessed the functions of the club with a watchful eye and helped to make the Boys' Club the successful organization that it is today. In past years the Boys' Club has sponsored many activities for the benefit of its members, for the students and the public. Among these activities are the basketball, volleyball and baseball tournaments which give students who do not take part in other extra curricular activities a chance to participate in athletics. Other noteworthy activities which the club sponsors is the annual Boys'Club Smoker and the Father and Son Banquet which are held in the spring. The Smoker has proved so popular that it became necessary to purchase anew ring to replace the one which has been used continuously for the past 20 years.
