Seeing not only the things just for the present, he also looks to the future to establish traditions and customs that will inspire and encourage the students to always strive for the finer things of life. The staff of the 1956 Kennel de dicate s this book to Mr. Ledru Jacobs. EDITOR oTE It is the staff's sincere wish that in the future years when you look through your 1956 Kennel it will renew many pleasant memories. It is with this thought in mind that we tried to depict to you, the students, friends, and faculty of Tahoka High School, all stages of your high school days. Enough credit or thanks can't be given Mrs. Pittman for her hard work and patience with the staff and me. We appreciate her very much. I know every editor thinks her staff is best, but to me I have had the best yet. They are all tops! Thanks a million for all of your co-operation. This year we had a new district supervisor from The Steck Company, Mr. Red jurecka, and to him, on behalf of the staff and Mrs. Pittman, I would like to say, Thanks for being so swell . The people that helped to make the Kennel possible are listed in the back of your book, our advertisers. We would like to express our appreciation to them who contributed so liberally. This being my last year in T.H.S. I sincerely wish that the future editors may have as much co-operation and pleasure in working on their yearbook as I have had. Now the staff and I present to you, the students, your 1956 Kennel. .ix T-SYN KU H- 1 . wb! ,, Vx-xx '14-Xi'-WEN X- 5 'Ntgfiw-75+ f-11 - 5 f9 x-EV--5, ywgk., Ill ll lull!!! six . 3., -. .x QW k '! wx-INN N 4x Na vvqr. . While Virginia Willhoit is checking the card files, Karl Prohl stamps the date on the book that is due. Magazines and papers are kept on file in the library for students who may need future references. Two librarians who are capable of straightening these are Stanley Stone and Linda jones. P The library has, at the disposal of all students, period books and maga- zines. Two librarians responsible for keeping these neat are Patsy Roberts and Karen Kidwell. ur 106 THE K ENNEL STAFF K Ann Reasonover, editor of The Kennel, is an out- standing student of Tahoka High School. Ann had the task of making sure that e very installment was in on time and every detail in them was correct. Assisting Ann as associate editor was Carolyn Duckett. Carolyn and Ann worked well together on every job including the planning of the entire book. Financing the 1956 Kennel was the task assigned to the girls serving on the business staff. The money was earned by selling advertisements to the local merchants, hold- ing picture sales, and the sale of annuals. The Business staff consisted of Othelda Freeman, La Rhea Greathouse, Sue Wheatley, and Virginia Gable. an , X 5 1 Margie Curry and Reba Cook had the job of planning and picturing all students participating in sports. These girls attended all the games and kept a record of the scores and plays. Picturing all students in Tahoka High School has been a tremendous job well taken care of by the class editors, Mary Helen Whitaker and Betty Vaughan. L: CT' -Q Q- . Linda Milliken, snapshot editor, was clever with the Little Box and always came up with just the right pose to make her section the most popular in the annual. Fifteen pages of the 1956 Kennel were carefully planned and edited by Marilyn Carmack. She was the girl who knew all the secrets and kept them well. Planning and picturing the eleven organizations in Tahoka High School was the assignment given to Gerald Deane Tippit and jeanette Melton.
