EDITOR'S NOTE Dear Reader, As you look through your Kennel from time to time, it is the wish of each member of the staff that you enjoy it. But, being editor of the book,I want to tell you something you probably have not thought about. You and I were lucky this year. We had a group of wonderful people working for and with us. They worked with me, as editor, and for you, as owner of the Kennel. Mrs. Pittman guided us along a sometimes unl-cnown path. She did a fine job also with our most perplexing problem, finances. Rose Marie was assistant editor. She always kept calm and was a constant reliable source for the editor to depend upon. jeanell, feature editor, was the girl who knew all the secrets. She kept them well. Joy and Sue found many problems in being organization editors, but by working together they solved them. Betty and jerry spent many hours thumbing through magazines and drawing sketches for sports page ideas and came up with some great ones. Ann was handy with her camera, not only for her snapshot section, but for all divisions. Margie and Villa probably had the hardest job of all because they were new on the staff. They were re- sponsible for everyone's having his class picture made and put in the proper section, Everyone wrote copy, pasted pictures, solicited ads and did anything that needed to be done. Eleven people are not very many for such a job as they had. The only pay they get is our thanks. So right now I want to give them my thanks for a job well done. Why don't you give them yours? There are others who contributed greatly to the publication of the Kennel. Among them are Mr. B. T. Smith, who was so patient and generous in making most of our pictures. Also Mr. Richter, our district supervisor, who advised us on many problems. Orr's studio of Lubbock made the pictures in the feature section and the faculty pictures, Since I cannot list egacb of the business firms that were so generous with their ads in spite of a dry year, I want to express my appreciation to them as a group. In closing I want to say to Rose Marie that I hope she has a staff next year that displays such dependability, willingness, cooperation, and determination as mine did. Q
