This year iT began iTs exisTence as The Breeze during The TirsT semesTer, and by The second semesTer, The dissaTis- Tied sTaTT changed iTs name To The Cougar Echo. The TirsT semesTer paper was ediTecl by junior college journalism sTudenTs, Audrey Cooper being ediTor. ReporTers Tound ThaT journalism was no snap .... Owing To The decrease in enrollmenT in journalism classes, volunTeer sTudenTs Took over Tor The second semesTer wiTh JuaniTa BiggersTaTT as ediTor. P. S.-Leon Reisman ranTed and raved abouT deadlines as usual .... Well, we haven'T exacTly slaved away on The Derrick This year as our predecessors claimed They had, buT iT's been hard enough work. The lasT week or so beTore publicaTion saw everyone running hiTher and yon Trying To puT The pieces TogeTher. Several eve- nings were devoTed To work on The book, and a Tew SaTurday mornings were spenT in a similar manner. Mr. Reisman, as usual, helped The ediTors immensely. RuTh Brandon picked up The loose Threads and bound The book TogeTher as ecliTor. Jean Cunningham Took phoTographs Till she ThoughT she couldn'T look anoTher TlashlighT bulb in The Tace.
