A yearbook is perhaps +he sole means of bringing back 'rhose happy fimes. So, when fhe class of I933 look back over +heir Derricks , 'rhey will remember 'l'he 'Fun of fheir high school days. Being an ambi+ious group of s1'uden+s, +he class of '33 rapidly became accusiomed 'ro fhe high school. ln one shor+ year ii' boasled represen+a+ives in every phase of school ac+ivi+y: afhlelics, forensics, dramafics, music, and high scholarship. As sophomores, fhe class won ihe s+uden+ body card con+es'r and had many represenlalives in +he Follies, in all sporfs, and in various organizafions. Then came fhe junior year wilh ils Junior-Senior prom de- picfing a Japanese garden and wi+h fhe acfive parlicipalion in all school governmenf by fhe juniors. In 'I'he following year, as seniors, +he members of ihe class became 'lhe leaders of fhe school. Many were elecled +o life membership in fhe California Scholarship Federarion, and olhers sold enough 'rickefs so +ha+ +he class again won +he sludeni' body card confesf.
