WILLIAM BURG ANSTINE JR Wfilliams Three Years at Taft Beta Bchmtl the Wlieel Crazy Bill Anst Cool XX'1lly Dinan Bind SQ Marching Bind 56 Context Band 58 Glce Club 58 L pper School Debating, 58 jlggcr bhop Committee 57 Camera Club 58 Varsity Basketball T 58 I V Basketball 56 57 J V Track 57 Automobile Club 58 If you can plcture a boy wearing a red sweater and a blue golf cap, seated at his desk and vigorously manipulating a ski pole, you can picture Anst MG sports car At Hrst, this wild exhibition of sports car enthusiasm may seem to con flict with Bills placid nature, but, on closer 1nSpCCt10r1 of Bills character, one also detects his great enthusiasm and determination in everything he tackles, be it sports cars, basketball, track, music, or scholastic achlevement Willie, who failed in his attempt to make the York Pa Junior High Basketball team, set his sights on the Taft Varsity squad His diligent and enthusiastic practice enabled h m to join the J V squad as a Middler and the Varsity team as a Senior While rummaging through his closet one Saturday afternoon he un covered a dusty snare drum which he thought he had left home Five minutes later th halls were reverberating with wild drum rolls One month later the Concert and Marching bands were blessed with Cool Wlllies drum, and, within half a year, the Taft School Dance Band, the epitome of instrumental skill, accepted Willie and his drum into its folds For reasons that should be fairly obvious by now we are confident that Bill will do more than an adequate job in any walk of life he chooses Farquhar Estates York Pennsylvania 26 2 1 ' ' Q58 . . . . . . ,, ,, in one of his rare moments of ecstasy - practicing speed shifting for his . . . , . . . . , , 'f , . , - , S . . .
