Chief Commanding Officer PRIDE, PATRIOTISM, and PROFESSIONAL PROFICIENCY are the primary objectives of the MARINE COMMUNICATIONS DETACHMENT. Throughout the TACONIC Team's many successful amphibious landings and exercises during the 1962 Mediterranean cruise, MCD has proved to be an instrumental and necessary part. The VERSATILITY and ENTHUS- IASM of the ship's marines have certainly contributed to the outstanding records and impressions scored in. all countries of the Med' these seven months.
