Haddon Robinson 'Ui- ff Q- The Christian Approach to War and Violence. Inter-Term The optimum of an educational experience is seldom idealized and any sem- blance to it is rarely effectuated. One exception was Tabor's first venture with the Inter-Term, In three tense weeks Taborites relished in the exposure to some of the best scholars of our time and contended with the rigors of highly intensi- lied study. An unstructured realm of mind-expanding and unconventional thought permeated a campus shook loose from its normal humdrum hinges by an atmosphere rare in its coupling of the general with the specific. Each day students listened attentively at convocations headed by outside resource lectur- ers - authorities in their fields - and acquired a broad awakening to such areas as ethics, intergration, aesthetics, education. cultural change, theology and music. Several thought-provoking forums joined together students and guests in stimulating dialogue. In their respective seminars, students were af- forded opportunities to delve deep into the erudition of the guest lecturers. Face-to-face encounters with the specifics of their seminars immensely devel- oped student interest and involvement. Aside from learning and absorbing the students participated first-hand in this new experience. The study in drama produced Shaw's ANDROCLES AND THE LION. Ted Nichols, author of numerous television and motion picture musical scores, composed especially for Tabor a 'ireligious jaxzn concert which, directed hy Mr. Nichols, was magnifi- cently staged hy Tahoris choir and orchestra. An air of academic excellence and experimentation prevailed and Tahorls history was permanently and optimisti- cally endowed with a true adherence to the Inter-Termvs theme: uChristian Responsibility in a NN'orld of Changef, 7
