It is my privilege to preach the Word of God to our high schoolers during two of our three weekly chapel services. God honors the faithful preaching of His Word and has promised to stir hearts to faith and salvation and spiritual growth through Christ-honoring preaching. “So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall ... prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) God never acts in vain, but always with purpose and plan. The Word of God originates in the heart of God and makes its way into our lives as we read or hear it. There is no greater privilege than that of learning God’s Word. There is no greater calling than that of preaching His Word. There is no greater blessing than that of listening to God’s messenger. There is no greater opportunity than that of being a “doer of the Word.” The Bible will absolutely meet any and every need that a Christian has. It will give wisdom, power, love, strength, comfort, hope, vision, zeal, and a burden for lost souls. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you high schoolers and your fine parents for the joy that is mine to stand with God’s Word in hand and have a small part in what God is doing in our lives and homes as together we walk in the light of His Word.
