IN MEMORY OF Brother Ed Roupe No man’s life is an island unto himself. Rather, all about him are the lives of others who are influenced by his presence. Our hands are joined, our heads are bowed and our hearts are overflowing for the lasting influence that God’s servant, Brother Ed Roupe, has had upon us all. I miss him as a friend as well as a fellow-laborer in the ministry, but I know that he has arrived safely home. The greatest day in the life of a Christian is when his faith becomes sight and his hope becomes fruition. Brother Ed’s final farewell ushered him into the presence of the Lord. When all my labors and trials are o’er And I am safe on that beautiful shore, Just to be near the dear Lord I adore Will through the ages be glory for me. — Pastor Randy Shook HE MAKETH NO MISTAKE My Father’s way may twist and turn, My heart may throb and ache, But in my soul I’m glad I know, He maketh no mistake. JAMES EDWARD ROUPE Mr. Roupe went to be with the Lord during surgery on October 27, 1987, following an automobile accident ten days earlier on his sixty-second birthday. Always doing for others rather than himself, he was on his way to Charlotte’s Douglas Airport to catch a plane for Florida where he was to check on the purchase of some vans for our school. He became a part of our school staff as full-time mechanic in July of 1980, having given many hours on a part-time basis for several years prior to this. He came to the rescue of many a student, teacher, pastor, missionary, and evangelist. Loved and respected by everyone whose path he crossed, he will be greatly missed. ihe
