Assistant Principals Make Daily Rounds Mr. Charles Cherry; Elizabeth City State College, Hampton Institute. Mr. Edwin Markoff; William and Mary, Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William and Maty, Old Dominion University. Besides their many responsibilities as Assistant Principals, Mr. Ed Markoff also holds the position as Tabb’s athletic and activities advisor, while Mr. Charles Cherry handles classroom instruction. Their constant attention helped to smooth the transition of Mr. Miller’s departure and Mr. Morris’ arrival. This is Mr. Cherry’s last year at Tabb for he had acquired the position of Principal at Queens Lake Intermediate. Mr. Markoff will still be found haunting Tabb’s halls with his big orange spirit” next year. Top Left: Mr. Markoff and Mr. Cherry in conference. Top Right: Mr. Cherry. Dedication Is Mr. Morris In One Word On February 2, 1976, Mr. Robert T. Morris became the second Principal of Tabb High School. Mr. Morris has been a life-long resident of Virginia except for a short time spent in New York and two drafted terms in the United States Army. He grew up on the family’s farm, fishing with his father and taking work available to him in the rural community. His father gave him some good advice which he passes on today, Learn to do anything that gives you an honest dollar.” This advice has enabled him to excel in all he has undertaken. Mr. Morris attended two high schools, Gloucester County Training School and Rappahannock Industrial Academy, with the intention of going into medicine. Later he decided it would be to his family’s advantage for him to teach. He also attended the College of William and Mary, Old Dominion University and Virginia State College, where he received his B.S. and M.S. In his spare time, Mr. Morris enjoys the company of his wife and son while he dabbles in farming and cooking, his favorite hobbies. We all want to wish continued good luck to Mr. Robert Morris in his coming years at Tabb High School. Administrators 51
