Juniors Gain Control Of Lounge On June 11, 1976, even before the Class of 76 had officially graduated, the Class of- invaded their new Senior Lounge. During homeroom, while underclassmen were patiently awaiting the tone for first period. Juniors held a ribbon-cutting ceremony opening the lounge to them. Juniors in the Tabb Tiger band marched through the commons and down the hall playing the Fight Song” to emphasize the occasion. Class President Debbie Wilburn, cut the orange ribbon surrounding the lounge, opening it to a mad rush of Juniors. But alas, all good things must come to an end — at least during class time — and the new Seniors found, just as the ones before them, Mr. Markoff’s mighty voice ordering them out of the lounge and on to class. Top: Debbie Wilburn cuts the ribbon to officially open the lounge. Middle: The usual mad rush to get a seat. Bottom: Ours at last. Senior Lounge Opening 1 73

Canadians Visit Tabb — Eh! Top Left: Tabb cheerleaders worked to make posters to welcome the students from Applewood. Sayings such as, Yall come back” and Eh” were heard all week throughout the halls of Tabb. I 1 72 Applewood Heights Bond and Chorus Band, majorettes and cheerleaders were once again able to see their new friends from Canada. The Applewood Heights Band and Chorus came to Tabb via Washington to play a concert at the new Yorktown Victory Center. They were the first foreign band to give a concert at the center. Before the Yorktown concert, both groups and the Stage Band gave two concerts for the Tabb High student body, which was one of the best assemblies given at Tabb — both by the Canadians and the conduct of THS students. A guided tour, by Mr. Roach, through Williamsburg was a thrill for both Applewood and Tabb students. Saturday was to be spent at Busch Gardens, but rain changed these plans. Most students could be seen strolling through the Coliseum Mall with the Canadians searching for Virginia is for lovers” T-shirts. That night a dance was held in the commons in honor of the visitors. Sunday morning came much too soon as, once again, it was time to say good-bye. Last minute pictures and addresses were exchanged and promises to visit each other again soon as the buses headed back to Canada.
