Building Year Once again, this year’s Girls’ Basketball team showed great potential, but the inexperience of a young team, along with the lack of height, held them back. The year became more of a building one which, along with the team hustle, should help them next year. Outstanding players were Connie Whitaker, with Janice Arena as high scorer. The Tabb Tiger Junior Varsity Basketball team recorded another successful season by finishing with 16 wins and 5 losses. The team’s continued success is primarily based on learning, practicing, and mastering the basic fundamentals of competitive basketball. The Junior Varsity level is an integral part of the overall basketball program and is primarily designed as the developmental stage for future higher competition. Team membership is predicated on individual desire, dedication, determination and drive. Finally, these young men have the drive to accomplish individual and team goals of confidence and togetherness. The team constantly displayed an exciting style of play based on a scrambling and gambling philosophy. Defense being their main objective, each member of the team exhibited a total team effort throughout every game of the season.
