Clubs Keep Student Interest High This year’s FBLA members sponsored Christmas Cheer Baskets which were distributed to elderly families throughout York County. Every morning members could be seen selling doughnuts before school to raise the necessary money to attend District, State and National competition in which they placed first in Steno II. This year’s York Tabb Geological Field Study Group left Virginia June 29th and returned July 12. Science students participating on the trip included: Phebe Quanerman, Peggy Thomberry, Irvin Picha, Corrine Smith, Micheal Launikitis, Karen Markoff, Tammy Fales, Steve White, Gary Drydcn, Susan Green, Lauren Oney, Brian Quass, Terry Jenkins, Alice Bertram, Lauren Olstad. Instruaors on the study trip were, John Wood, Little Wood, Linda Lang — Nurse and Mike Hartman — Group Counselor. f|4 Kjjf ' The aim of the Science Club is to foster interest in science, chemistry, earth science and biology, and impart scientific knowledge in these areas. DE And VIC A Continue To Build Character Distributive Education students have been involved in a wide variety of aaivities in order to gain an early entry into the business world. Socially, they enjoyed an Employer- Employee Banquet, a Christmas Party, and a field trip to Richmond. They also won District 2Ts softball and bowling Tournaments. Community projects included working with Toys for Tots for Sarah Bonwell Hudgins. They also won a first place for Tabb in advertising and 3rd place for group and solo demonstration contest. D.E. Career Team The Tabb High School Career Team is an organization of students and faculty members interested in promoting vocational opportunities and career explorations at Tabb. The team provides an important communication link between student btxly and school administrators by enabling them to help initiate new vocational programs and recommend longrange curriculum changes. The group also evaluates current career programs for both vocational and college bound students. Publicizing the Career Room in the IRC was one of the Teams major projects this year. Standing: Mrs. Morgan, Mr. Henkel, Mrs. Luck, Mr. Woolard, Clarence Coleman. Sitting: Molly Buchanan, Mr. Haase, Chris Luke, Mr. Weaver, Debbie Evans. AVClub The 1975-76 AV Club was composed of 13 members whose main goal was to record news items around school in order to increase communication between students, SCA and what they are doing.” They were taught how to use the various pieces of equipment and use this knowledge in classrooms. They also learned to use the video tape recorder and taped our Tigers in action” at many basketball games. The SCA and AV Club sponsored a Halloween Horrow Film on October 30th showing one film in the afternoon and one in the evening. This Year’s Members Are; Seated: Terry Duncan, Mike Barbeau, Karen Perry, Wendy Wright, Jackie Greene, Keith Davis — President. Sight And Sound Corps The Sight and Sound Corps is composed of Tabb High students who are interested in working the lightboard and sound system for all programs held at Tabb. Each student is trained in the area which he is interested in by the sponsor Mr. Tew. This year’s crew is composed of: Scott Weidman, Mr. Tew, James White, Richard Breen, Steve Walton, Mike Denkins and Angie Veach. Absent: Brenda Scoggins.
