Tabb High Elects Delegates to Girls and Boys State BOYS’ STATE: CHUCK MASSER, DOUG PETERS, JAMES PIERCE, SCOTT PETERSON Within the State of Virginia, for one week in each year, two new States come into being. Its executive, legislative, and judicial branches function to govern the cities, and the municipal governments regulate the activities of the citizens during this brief period. The purpose of Girls’ and Boys’ State is to provide citizenship training for students of high school age; to afford them an opportunity to live together as selfgoverning citizens; to inform them about the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of American citizenship, in order that they ma.y understand and participate in the functioning of their government; and to help them grasp the meaning of some of their resp onsibilities which they must assume when they become adults. The Senior Prom — A Milestone Symbolizing the On May 18th, the class of ’74 was proud to attend the first senior prom of Tabb High. Held at the Hilton 1776 in Williamsburg, the events of their senior year were reminisced in a night of festive activity. In the midst of shimmering gowns and colorful tux, the seniors had time to reflect on the past years while dancing to the mellow music of the band. Though the prom ended at midnight, partying continued far into the morning. As one girl said, I’ve only got ONE senior prom!” 94 Sr. Prom
