Money-making Projects Highlight Senior Year The Senior class saw the 1973-74 school year in a different light from underclassmen. Homecoming, basketball sweetheart, athletic events and other extra-curricular activities took on new meanings. The conclusion of each activity meant a step further toward our entrance into the frightening and challenging society. Trying to keep this in the back of our minds for awhile, the class worked together to insure a great and memorable year. Money-making projects became an important Senior undertaking. Selling candy, pennants, and tumblers, helped to defray the cost of the prom and the Senior trip. Nonetheless, there was still graduation announcements, caps and gowns, and application fees to be paid for. It’s true that your senior year is the most expensive, but in the long run it’s worth every penny. As graduation drew nearer the seniors realized that that was it — fun and games were now over and the trials and tribulations that had been suffered were a part of the past, but an important pan. The experience that had been gained, both good and bad would play an important part in their futures, but now it was time to say good-bye to those four years — the best years of our lives. f 1973 brought with it a new breed of high school students. We conducted ourselves as individuals in most cases, but we also found it necessary to follow the crowd in others. The senior class provided sound leadership through the exp eriences they had been confronted with the past three years. Sophomores and Juniors contributed new ideas that further signified progress within the new school, while the Freshman class took on the challenges of the upperclassmen and gave of themselves to Tabb High School. ) People 31 PEOPLE

Goodbye I’ll close my books and lift my head to take a look around. The empty wooden desks, I see, But nothing makes a sound. It’s over now — your high school days — time for graduation. It’s over now — your schoolgirl craze — time for celebration. Should I laugh or should I cry, the years went by so fast. All the work and fun I had are shadows in the past. Goodbye to lockers slamming shut and passes in the halls. Every weeknight in a rut with homework — climbing walls. Goodbye to teachers straight and gocxl we’ll miss your tardy passes You know we did the best we could to credit in your classes. So now the world waits outside, I want to be a part. And as I leave my high school years I also leave my heart. But as I do I’ll take much more than books could ever give, I take the spirit of Seventy-Four throughtout each day I live.
