Directors Play an Important Part in School Operations Department leaders, Mr. M. Wollard of Vocational (TOP RIGHT), Mrs. Elizebeth Smith of Humanities (BOTTOM) and Mr. T. Doggins of Math — Science (TOP RIGHT) provided the overall coordination of activities for smooth running departments. Items such as finding available classrooms, keeping records of textbooks, and instructional material, assisting guidance with scheduling, arranging field trips and speaking engagements were a few of the vital behind the scene jobs that these dedicated directors carried out. 18 Directors

Guidance Channels Students Abilities Helping to guide students along the right tracks, the Guidance Department has played a large role in the two years that Tabb has been opened. The counselors not only did the usual straightening out of schedules, but took it upon themselves to coordinate trade oriented assemblies. Mrs. W. Luck, (TOP LEFT) served as head of the department as well as counselor to the sophomores. The advising and dealing with scheduling problems of the juniors was left with Mrs. R. Wyche, (TOP RIGHT). Mr. G. Haase (BOTTOM LEFT) was bogged down with sending senior transcripts as counselor to the graduating class. Mrs. A. Cook (BOTTOM RIGHT) saw to it that the freshman class got started on the right foot. I Guidance 17

IRC Is More Than a Resource Center Books, books, and more books! In the middle of them all you might be able to find Mrs. N. Morgan (TOP) or Mrs. C. Ford (BOTTOM RIGHT). Reading. Probably not. They’d most likely be checking them out, reshelving them or perhaps arranging them in a display. With the help of Mrs. H. Hubbard (BOTTOM LEFT) the librarians have made the IRC more than just a resource center, but have added personality to the room with posters, displays, and bulletin boards, enabling students to expand their knowledge through other means.
