NJROTC Has Exceptionally Productive Year I Under the suiiervision of Cdiief Claude Kirkland and Captain John Wells, the spetial Drill Team performed at Hampton Institute on JROTC Day and plaicd third amon : the eleven sehtxrls competing. They put on performances at Tabb Intermediate. Williamsburg, and gave demonstrations during pep rallies and at a show for DECA. The Drill Team also competed in a ' EW Loyal Day Parade and took first place in the JROTC Unit Recognition and commendation is deserved of the Tabb High ROTC Unit as a whole for doing such an e.xcellent job this school year. Debate and Forensics Have Tremendous Year R. McCartney, F. Hunt, Miss Zalumus, J. Ashby, M, Adkins, T. Wilburn, S. Simmons, Mrs. Smith, R. Cossabtxjm, C. Baker, T. Hamilton, C. Owens, D. Luke, C. Vouri, M. Edwards, L. Fricke, C. Hoyt. Debate Team Snatches State Title — Forensics Seizes Top Trophies Tabb High’s debate and forensics team charged ahead with determination and vigor, proving that it was possible for such a young team to work together and carry off the top trophies. With the tremendous help of Mrs. Marian Smith and Miss Barbara Zalumas, rhe phenomenal team improvet.1 by leaps and bounds. Those participating in Debate were: Cris Owens and Dan Luke who also were in Forensics, Mary Edwards, Frank Hunt, Jeff Ashby, Tom Wilburn, Rowanne Cossaboom, Marc Adkins, Cindy Baker, and Tina Hamilton. Those in Forensics, Rose McCartney, Steve Simmons, Cheryl Vouri, Cindi Hoyt, and Laura Fricke. The Debate Team won the JP Yanc 7 Award for the Best New Debate Team in Virginia. Forensics did extremely well, winning numerous trophies and awards.
