Students enthusiastically got involved in the various after school clubs at Tabb. Charters and constitutions having been adopted the year before enabled members to plunge into their activities from the start. The FHA bazaar, the SCA’s iron-on patch sale, and the Keyette donut sale were just a nucleus of the many happenings of the different groups. Unfortunately, with the onset of the energy crisis, the school board found it necessary to eliminate the activity buses, which put a dam- per on meetings and club participation. The SCA headed a number of projects this year. They sponsored a back to school dance and a Football Sweetheart contest. Later they installed a suggestion box in the library and also a book return box for the library. At Christmas a canned food drive was headed by Jane Petty. The second annual Miss Tabb High Pageant was another activity sponsored by the SCA. A new idea the SCA tried was a coffee house with live entertainment and tacos. The end of the year brought with it a constitution to ratify and new officers to install. SCA 103
