Ex ery player goes through the anxieties of 1 close game as displayed in the faces of the pliyers the sidelines against Bran OH Jumor vars1ty team gains needed gridiron abilities V FOOTBALL starting as 1 Baby Knight to become a mrsity player practicing long hours under the watchful eyes of the coaches . . . ., looking forward to circle drills . . . knowing the feeling of representing your school experi- encing butterflies in your stomach before the opening kickoff . . . playing before scant crowds . . . learning the true meaning of sportsmanship receiving valuable experience . .. shivering in the ice cold showers after a hot game on a cold night . . . gaining the respect of your team- mates, teachers and schoolmates being pro- moted to the varsity team for their last game . . . being a part of a truly good team. All eyes are on the ref- eree during the important toss of the coin to de- termine who will kickoff and receive and defend which goal. Morris LaGrand and Larry Thomas gain control of a te- bound against the Hillsbor- ough Terriers as Matt Serzan waits for the pass. Cagers rebound for RHS attaining a winning spirit BASKETBALL staying late into the night practicing Coach john Pellegrino watching and instructing his team always putting out their best in practice and in competition . . . shooting, rebounding, dribbling . .. working up a big sweat trying for that all important point-making basket . . . accepting fouls without getting mad hoping the guy you fouled won't make that shot sighing with relief when he misses keeping a sharp eye on the other guy feeling good inside from the support of the students staying in there fighting, even when the opponent is far ahead . . . meeting a tough foe with winning in their minds beaming with joy from the thrill of victory . . . holding their heads high with pride, even in the face of defeat all this for the feeling of accomplishment, self-satisfaction, x teamwork, and Robinson. The varied enthusiasm of the students and parents is shown as the Knights score in a tough game against the Big Reds of Hillsborough. Senior cager Leo Matassini moves the ball down court in an attempt to help the Knights score in the hectic Robinson, Hillsborough game.
