This group of teachers has geared the English program to all levels and types of stu- dents in the school. Junior high English and developmental (speedy) reading is taught by Mary Alice Witsaman. In high school the courses are separated into regular and college preparatory English. Mary B. Rigdon teaches all juniors in a course closely paralleling junior U.S. history. Max Ellen Wagner teaches eighth, ninth, and tenth graders in both divisions of English. David Howard teaches regular twelfth grade English. Philip Fawley teaches speech, college preparatory tenth grade, and the sen- ior college prep course. In this senior course the students study English literature and creative writing.
