Pop Walsh, head of the Central High Music Department, who is retiring from the faculty this year. Pop, as he is known to most of us, has enabled many youngsters to become successes in the music world, with his constant assistance, enthusiasm, and encouragement. By so often displaying his warm smile and pleasant greeting, Pop made Central a much happier school. Never to be forgotten are the many excellent musical per- forma h d' ' ' nces e 1rected, arranged, and even performed in him- self, the finest being his Golden Anniversary Night Club Show staged last year. We wish to thank you, Pop Walsh, for so willingly con- my tributing your many talents and energies to Central H' h! y ave certainly secured for yourself a position of distinction among the annals of this school. lg School, and we feel that ou h ' J THE FACULTY The Senior Classes of 1954 wish to express our sincere appre- ciation to the faculty of Central High School for the help and guidance they have given us. During all our years at Central they have always been ready to extend a helping hand to any student, no matter what his problem was. We owe a great deal to them and so for the time and effort so patiently given to each one of us we wish to say thank you. Principal, Walter P. It means that though Central, for the last two years, has given me a wealth of knowledge, and many happy hours with my classmates, the time has come for me to part with these hallowed walls, through which thousands of voices have rung in schoolish joy. Many are the hours I laughed, may the walls echo in their rinq: many are the friends I have made, may the floors repeat their footsteps as they hurry from class to class: and many are the times, that when I needed extra help, there were patient teachers, willing to help another soldier through the battlefield of life. Yes, the time has come to leave this hectic living and journey to a far better life. But as I leave each one of you, I won't say goodbye, I'll just say so 1ong. .
