DEDICATION We, the Senior Classes of 1953, wish to dedicate this year- book, the Scarlet '53, to the retiring faculty members who are leaving Central High School, just as we are leaving. Although every year we lose faculty members through retire- ment this year the number is excessive. The loss of these teach- ers who have had a part in upholding the traditions of Central will be felt by both faculty and students. Their willingness to serve on committees, act as advisors for extra-curricular activi- ties, and give helpful assistance to pupils will be greatly missed. Although new teachers may come no one will be able to replace the high regard in which these teachers are held. As they leave the significant part they played in the school will go down as a portion of Central's history. As this may be our last opportunity to express our apprecia- tion to them for all they have created in Central, we would like to wish them every happiness for a long and successful future.

THE FACULTY We, the Senior Classes of '53, want to express our gratitude to the faculty of Central High School. During our years at Central, we have found them to be our understanding friends, to whom we could always bring our problems, as well as being interesting and informed teachers. Although we realize we are now incapable of understanding the value of their guidance to us, we know this training and counseling will be invaluable to us in later years. We wish to thank you, the faculty, for all the time and effort you so willingly gave to each one of us, who make up the Senior Classes of '53.
