Grade Actwztzes The seventh and e1ghth grades have had a very successful year They part1c1pated mn all programs g1ven dur ng the school year and also had a basketball team wh1ch was coached by Mr Kyle All of the most lmportant holldays such as Halloween Chrlstmas and Valent1ne s Day were observed by having a party The class offlcers for the seventh grade were as follows Pres1dent Neal LOVID Vrce Pres1dent Kenneth Bmchacek Secretary Geraldme Hlad Treasurer Loretta D1ers Offlcers elected for the elghth grade were Presldent Helen Best Vlce Presldent Pat Pxnnrck Secretary Evelyn Wh1tmer Treasurer Jane Parks Dur1ng the last semester the group organ1zed a Sc1ence Club Thls club was to meet every two weeks for the purpose of becomlng better ac qua nted w1th the pr1nc1p1es of sclence The club has been a great help as xt has made lt more 1nterest1ng to study these prmcmples Fourth, Fzfth 5:5 Szxth One of the f1rst thlngs we d1d after school began was to elect our room offrcers for the f1rst semester The results were as follows Robert Sh1roky Pres1dent Gary Wmley V1ce Presrdent Mary Fern Prester Qecretary and Twanda D1ers Treasurer The second semester we elected Twanda Dxers and Gary Wrley Treasurer We took part rn all school programs presented dur1ng the year ln November we planned a surprlse 'P b1rthday party for our teacher M1ss Rasmussen On Halloween we had a masquerade party of wh1ch movlng plctures were taken On Valent1ne s Day we 1nv ted our mothers to a valentme party In the afternoon we saw the mov1es that were taken on Halloween and played games Refreshments consxstlng of lce cream and heart shaped cook1es were served The s1xth grade presented a rad1o play Blue Wlllow to the seventh and elghth grades Marme Thaete and Duane McGee made a telegraph set for a sc1ence project whrch proved to be mterestlng and educat1ona1 to all Fzrst, Second E3 Tlurd One of the mam projects of our school year was the County Tuberculos1s Poster Contest 1n whlch we took part Everyone who took part recelved a pr1ze but those who recelved specxal prrzes rn the fxrst grade were Yvonne Sh1roky f1rst Daryl Meltler second and Sandra Hynes thrrd In the second grade Amta JO Shanelec and Leroy Prester rece1ved second and thlrd respectlvely Thlrd graders rece1v1ng awards were Marllyn Krysl f1rst Marlene Thaete second and LeRay Prester th1rd Some of the other aCt1VltlCS mncluded the maklng of potato puppets and presentmng puppet shows takmg part rn programs that were g1ven durmg the year and at Chrlstmas tmme each ch1ld made a K1tchen R m1nder to gxve to mother for a Chrxstmas grft We also rece1ved many new books whrch made xt much eas er for us to study 8 I I I . . . . ir , , . . 7 D I ' 1 I 3 H I v ' l r 1 .
