bear Ibm 9 August I8 What a wonderful summer' The days were gloriously long and packed full f swimming picnics and visiting Today the boys reported to the high school build ing to draw football equipment take physical examinations and to generally condition themselves for the coming school term Only two weeks till school starts September 'Z Sleeping was rather difficult last night My usual bedtime the past weeks has been one or two oclock AM with pernission to stay in bed till nine or ten oclock the following morning So going to bed at ten didnt help much for l couldnt sleep anyway Today school started September 4 It happens quick when you are a senior Today we had our first class meeting and we elected officers Nancy DeJohn was elected President and I hope she makes out good I secretly promise to do every th ng I can to help her Lana Cramer made Vice President Judy Deter got Treas urer and Judy Barr rolled in the votes for Secretary Mr Donald Gray our class ad visor briefed us on the pit falls and pleasures ahead I get goosebumps when I think of going to Washington and of graduating nine months from now September I2 Two things happened today We had another class meeting and made plans tor selling stuff at the refreshment booth at tomorrow s opening football game with Brockway school Not too many boys will be available to work at the stand Later in the afternoon we had our first Pep Meeting Helen Petty is our Head Cheer leader and she looked quite nice in her uniform September 26 This month is flying by fast too fast' Yesterday we received a shipment of stationery which we re supposed to sell I must remember my secret promise to myself to help our class make money so I will sell and sell and sell' Mr Gillung reminded us yesterday too that our pic tures would be taken for the yearbook today How very nice everyone looked dressed in their Sunday suits and dresses Jim Venture looked even more handsome than ever all dressed p no wonder Karen likes him October 5 This day brought another surprise We received name card samples and they were passed around. Judy Myers was assigned the job of taking our orders and money for the cards. I ordered 200 cards I hope I have that many friends! October IO An interesting week gone by.
