Teacher: Mrs. Miller The fifth grade began the year with an enrollment of thirty-six pupils and Mrs. Miller the teacher. During the year Wilma Barney, Opal Heavlin, and Robert Yeater withdrew and entered other schools. Besides our regular school work we participated in the Ha1lowe'en Carnival Programg contributed to the Junior Red Cross and March of Dimes campaigns: enjoyed our annual Christmas exchange and movie and had a Valentine party. The following pupils had perfect attendance records the first semester: Jon Brown, Billy Crawford, David Fadley, Ralph Hawkins, Jimmy Konkle, Tim Niebel, Jean Beard, Judy Cochran, Sandra Doss, Patsy Geary, Mary Ann Ingman, Evelyn Jacobs, and Susan Sweigard. Teachers: Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Swihart. When school opened in September, there were 36 children in the Fourth Grade with Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Swihart their teachers. Since then, Carol Gregg transferred to Lykens School and David Jacobs to Clyde Schools. Karen Bonin joined our grade in January. The following children had perfect attendance during the first semester: Bonnie Burks, Rita Corf- man, Judy Cross, Maxine Kelly, Carol King, Nancy McBride, Roberta Roberts, Jerry Shell, Shelia Smith and Stanton Southworth. During the year our grade took part in the Hallowe'en Programg gave generously to the Junior Red Cross and March of Dimes. We made Christmas Gifts and enjoyed Christmas and Valentine Parties.
