CLASS PIHIPIIEUY On May 28, 1978, the Class of 1953 held a reunion in the great city of Sycamore, Ohio. Many things have happened since this class departed 25 years ago. They have come from all parts of the world for this gala affair. As I was wandering around through the crowd, I overheard NOVA GILES BROOKS telling a friend that she and her husband, Al, run their own Barber Shop, Al's Little Nook . They have several little shavers running around. As I continued on Ilearned many interesting facts. Among these, JIM BILLER, was elected Governor of Tim Buck Too. Jim has always been a staunch Democrat. CAROLYN RIEDEL told me that she is now sole owner of the very successful chain of drug stores, Dew Drop Inn . Going on about my business, I stopped JOHN BELL. He informed me that he has just returned from the 6th World War where he was made a five-star general. He is now with his wife and 12 children. I entered into a group where I learned much more then expected. Here I found that TERRY RANSOM Doss, RUTH RIEDEL Wagner, MARIAN EVERHART Babcock, are hap- pily married and are engaged in a business. They rent rooms to bachelors. In this group I found JEAN GRADY, who has just come back from the dark, deep jungles of Africa where she has been serving as a missionary. SHIRLEY HUMMEL just flew in from Holly- wood, where she has been working on the stage. WAYNE DUTCHER is head mechanic in the TINKER TOWN GARAGE . I was surprised to learn that RUTH MILLER Hudgins and her husband and their 3 sets of twins are in complete charge of the local newspaper. I guess I have learned everything from this group so I moved to where several other members of this class were sitting. Here I discovered that BOB SHOOK and CAROL GRUBB are well on their way up the ladder to success as a singing team. Their mana- ger is the world-famous ALAN KARCHER of the BE BOP Orchestra. Also in this group we find MARJORIE MCDERMOTT and JANIS CORFMAN who have been touring the country with the Harlem Globe Trotters as their cheerleaders. I learned that RONNIE MILLER and WAYNE SOLZE have made a great discovery pertaining to Agri- culture. They found that when a capsule of seed is put into the ground, a whole crop is produced. EDWIN GINGERY has gone pro-basketball and is now head coach at the Uni- versity of Bevo . LARRY REED has his own striking business, that of being an auc- tioneer. MARLENE HARTER and MARILYN SMITH have as their business THE HINKLE- DINKLE BABY-SITTING AND DIAPER SERVICE. I found that LA VON DROLL is content as a spinster managing a rooming house for other spinsters. My last contact was BONNY YENTZER who is now serving with the Foy Town Foreign Legion. Now that I have talked to all of the Graduates of 1953 I must leave the reunion. Here's Wishing them all the success in the many years to come. 17
