Our enrollment at the beginning of the year was 28. Jean Ruffing and Lois Walton moved from our district. Carolyn Chance, Linda Wagner, and Bobby Hill joined our group and remained with us while Roberta Price, Evelyn Morris and Ronald Wilson joined us but moved away before the close of school. Each child received a penny for every IOO in spelling. As a birthday re- membrance each one received a large pencil. Because of a flu epidemic and lack of coal, school was dismissed three days earlier than anticipated for the holiday vacation. For this reason we did not have our gift exchange until January. A Valentine box caused much excitement in February. Rosalie Secoy and Norman Burkhart have perfect attendance records at this writing.
