In September, 1943, thirty-six determined boys and girls enrolled as Freshmen in Sycamore High School. - We were looked upon and called green freshies, but we were very disappointed because we did not have an initiation. , , We had one skating party at Tiffin and all of those that went had a lot of tun-trying to stand up. P Our class was very much interested in sports. There were six boys on the Reserve Team. The Seventh Grade Opened the school year with an enrollment of thirty-two pupils. One who left us this year was Ruth Sells, but Loren Philips from McCutchensvi1le enrolled to fill the vacancy.
