The doors of Sycamore High School opened early for the 1978-79 school year, on August 29. It was hard to get back into the daily routine when summer wasn’t even over, yet once again students and faculty alike managed to settle down to studies. Friendships, old and new, were experienced as people became involved in the many activities offered at Sycamore. Excited exclamations “Hey, how are ya? Did ya have a nice summer? were met with enthusiastic descriptions of one’s summer activities.

The class of '79 realized their positions as Seniors and strived to make their last year at Sycamore memorable. Spirit demonstrated at pep assemblies proved the Seniors were number one but not without stiff competition. With all the excitement of a new school year, time spent alone were few and far between. Students reflected on their past and future while concentrating on the studies at hand.
