GIRLS SOCCER FIRST SEASON! In the 1978 fall sports season. Sycamore had its first girl’s soccer team. Our team was very outstanding, losing only two games in season play. The girls ended their season tied for second in the EHL. There were many good players. The coach’s award went to Lorie Schaefer. The most valuable player was Chris Mather. The most improved player was Arlene Risma. Named to the EHL first string all star team were Audrey Ludeke, senior goalie. Kim Eaters, sophmore forward, and Chris Mather, also a sophmore forward. Named to the second string team were Arlene Risma, senior halfback, and Lorie Schaefer, sophmore halfback. The girls had a good season, filled with vivacity and comraderie.
