SYCAMORE HiO POLO REGAINS STATE TITLE All the long hard hours of practice paid off as the Varsity Waterpolo team once again proved their skill and maneuverability when they recaptured the State Championship! The whole team worked together to make 1978 one of the best seasons ever with an outstanding record of 19- 0-1! A record-breaking crowd traveled to the state meet in Columbus to cheer the undefeated Aviators on to victory. The Aves downed their first three opponents and in their final match, tied Upper Arlington. Out of twenty players named to All State, Sycamore, has been the only team to qualify six of their players to the first team. These players are Seniors: Bob Schipper, Wim Schipper, Eric Wuerfel, John Ritter, Ed Gaw and Junior Scott Browning. Congratulations to these players, the waterpolo team, and coaches Lyons and Madonis on their second State Waterpolo Championship!
