These villages, Blue Ash, Montgomery, Indian Hill, White Oak, and Plainfield supply the boys and girls who go to Sycamore. Our School Board is the source of strength and guida'nce that leads us on to goals we strive to l achieve. Special recognition goes to Mr. Wm. R. Ranz and Mr. J. L. Radabaugh, who have served on the Board for more than twenty years and who have re- tired this year, To these men go our thanks and ap- preciation for their faithful and untiring service in this organization. The two new members are Mr. Frank F. Ferris and Mr. M. F. Hoffman, who is now president. Another splendid group that has supporw ted us in many ways is our Parent-Teachers' Association. They worked hard to help make our days at Sycamore more enjoyable. This year they presented the school with a new piano. Part of the funds came from their vari- ety show, Class Room Capers of 1947, which took many hours of their time for rehearsals. Butter, our assistant prin- cipal,very capably took over the duties of supervising the schooI for the first semester of the school year. Pre- viousty he attended Ohio State Univer- sity where he received his B. S and M. A. in education. Mr. Butler has been a member of the faculty at Syca- more for nine years. He is our mathe- matics instructor. SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Roy J. Kennedy has guided and directed us as our superintendent since 1926. During the first half of this. school year Mr. Kennedy was on leave of absence, but he returned for the second semester. They have been important, for they have given us our basic training, which wilt help us to choose our professions, whatever they may be. The Juniors and the Seniors are dressed in their finest and prettiest for an evening long remembered by both classes. Storke. 26 4 6'wa ym The arrival of a snappy football team at Sycamore for the first time in the history of the school will indeed have many happy memories. Under the superb coaching of Mr. Wooldridge and Mr. Wearly, the team had a successful season. Although there were not many victories, they had the fight and the determination, that made us proud of them. BASKETBALLeThe team played outstanding basketball with plenty of zip and zest, necessary to come up with a record of 13 victories out of 18 games. HERB BRADLEY, who tallied 322 points during the season, was the spark that ignited his determined teammates with the fire of victory. BASEBALLeSpring, and you find Mr. Wearly digging out the baseballs and bats and the boys, chosen for the team, practicing for all their worth so that they can play baseball. 28 September 27 Sharonville ........... At that time she was entertaining Miss Sharp, who had just returned from her latest ex- pedition to North Africa, where she had captured the big catch of the season. Charlie Walton also came early so that he could get a good comfortable seat. He is working at a mattress factory where he checks each mattress. He is thinking of quitting though, because he says it tires him out too much, Harold Hamilton, who is a used car dealer, drove up with Mary Frederick, a comptometer operator, and Melvin McNess, who has become famous for his arrangement of Peg 0' My Heart on the drums. Next came those three musketeersaBuckler, Riesenburg, and Capehart. Buddy and Dick are partners and have their own garage, now; and Harrye well, of course, everyone has heard about himehe is running for President of the United States this year.
