Our teachers who have helped us share, The hardships that we had to bear, We will have these school days to remember. As we receive diplomas, we know we must never sigh, Locked in us are the mem'ries of the years that have gone by. At last we know, we,re on our way, We pray that God be near each day, Class of 956 now hids, fond farewell. THEY HELD THE SHIP ON ITS CUURSE Class Officers of I 9 5 6 .1 .pm 'Sw 5 WALTER ANDRZEJEWSKI JOSEPH HAWK President Vice President Class Poem REMINISCING Now we are ready to open the door of life, Not knowing if it holds happiness or strife, Still we enter, first anxious, then hesitant, now sad As we fondly recall, memories of adventures we had. Our first thoughts are those of only yesterday,- Of class night, the prom, the banquet and our senior play. The months passed, as did the minstrel and senior trips, While words of both wisdom and wit, passed through our lips. Happy memories of youth-like these, were made. Never to be relivedg yet never to fade. With saddened hearts we travel to yesteryear, When as the Junior Class, we did appear. Considered upperclassmen, we strove to meet the test, We studied, we laughed, that year was one of the best. The year of 1953, as Sophomores, was a fleeting one, Though knowledge we sought, each day was filled with fun. We missed not a game nor a dance all year, Because we were youthful Sophomores with nothing to fear. We could hardly forget September of '52-that very first day- When as Freshmen, we stumbled to find the way. Now teachers were met, new friendships were found, We were now on the road and graduation bound. We cannot go back to the world we so loved and knew, To open the door, to succeed, is the aim of our young crew. Today-our goal is near in sight! Weave crossed the barriers, we've won the fiht.
