P. E. stresses physical fitness Several changes have been made in the Physical Educa- tion Department this year. Since the introduction of the Quarter System students are required to take five trimesters of P. E. To fill the five trimesters many new courses such as archery, handball, and gymnastics have been added to the curriculum. Two new teachers have also been added. Miss Cindy Ramos works with girls P. E. and Coach George Byerly with the Boys P. E. TOP Timothy Saddler, Steve Smith, and Mario Garza play handball in P. E. BOTTOM Girls in the fifth period P. E. class play speedball, a com- bination of basketball and baseball. 'fllllNG Students learn in job programs Several different vocational classes are offered at SHS. These classes are designed to help students learn more about business careers. Since different types of courses are offered, students have more of a variety of jobs to look for. TOP Tommy Tabors works as a gas station attendant at a local sta- tion. .ig . I. f . V i . Q ' l l l l l Future farmers learn, compete Ag students learn the basics of farming techniques. This year they have participated in livestock shows and judging contests. They have continued the tradition of selling gra- pefruit and oranges. Students in ag have also learned to work in the shop, where they weld, saw, build, along with many other things. Many of the students have farm animals, which they keep at the school ag barns.
