' l ,. The old tree stood gnarled against the sunlight. its trunk was weathered and beaten, and looked as if the hands of time had worked at it for centuries. It withstood the test of time. Our country has been beaten, stepped on, and mangled by time, but it still stands. Although we may not approve everything our ancestors have done in the past 200 years, will our posterity agree with everything we do in the next 200 years? It is up to us. I X

Students begin worrying about averages, and seniors begin filling out seemingly endless college applications. UlL competitors begin hours of practice in preparation for the spring contests. The close of the year brings about many conflicting feelings. The Fresh- men can not believe they made it through their first year. The Sophomores can not decide whether to act as upperclassmen or lowerclassmen, and the Juniors begin to get that first twinge of senioritis. The Seniors realize that day in lvlay they have wished for so long is finally here, and begin to feel they aren't so anxious for it after all.
