These are Fundamentals of Algebra, Algebra I and ll, trigonometry, ele- mentary analysis, Related Math I and ll, and geometry. A new change was made this year in the math cur- riculum. lt is no longer required to have geometry before taking Algebra ll. The result is a number of sophomores in the Algebra II classes. uarter system introduces new courses A legislative law that provided for the Quarter System became effective for Sweetwater High this year. With the introduction of the Quarter System, students at SHS have been given a broader choice of courses. The Quarter System divides the school year into three trimesters that are twelve weeks long. All students are now required to take six weeks tests, but those students who are eligible for exemptions do not have to take trimester finals. TOP LEFI' Susan Wright and Cindy Carroll work to perfect their handstands during gymnastics class. BOTTOM LEFT Clifton Griffith gets the headboard of a bed ready for refinishing by repairing and sanding the piece of fur- niture.
