Key Club sponsors Track Sweetheart Angie Ornelas was elected Track Sweetheart from among four girls nominated for the honor. The girls were nominated by the track team and the sweetheart was elected by vote of the student body. The sweetheart was sponsored by the Key Club. Tennis gains popularity The Varsity Tennis Team put in many hours of hard work in prepara- tion for this season's play. Since their practice sessions were dependent on the weather, the team began workouts at the beginning of the year and practiced throughout the year whenever the weather allowed. The team faced stiff competition from op- ponents as well as strong inner com- petition within the team as they vied for the number one positions on the ladder. Many people who were not mem- bers ofthe team also managed to find the time to pursue the sport. Tennis has become more popular around the SHS campus as more people than ever before are finding it enjoyable to play or even observe from the sidelines. 122 l.
