Frosh prove to be true Mustangs The year ended with two victories and a tie for the fresh- man football team. Being Ponies for the first time, the team showed promise for becoming true Mustangs. The boys worked long, hard hours after school practic- ing and running new plays. Coach Boone and Hargrove devised game tactics that would help win while also, working with the boys after school. Next year, many of these boys will advance to play Junior Varsity. Another year will be spent in practicing for long tiresome hours, but this year as Ponies, the freshmen played with a spirit that has always been a part of Mustang football. OO Girls display ability in Powderpuf The girls of Sweetwater High School had their chance to take the field and see what football was really all about in the annual Powderpuff game. The game was open to any girl of SHS who wished to play. Coaches, cheerleaders, and twirlers for the event were selected from the boy's football teams. The girls were allowed two weeks of prac- tice before the game was played. The rival teams were the Hustlers, made up of Sophomores and Juniors: and the Dynamite Dames, composed of Freshmen and Seniors. The Hustlers defeated the Dynamite Dames by a score of 10-6. The game was sponsored by the Student Coun- cil and the proceeds went to the Stu- dent Council Scholarship Fund. RIGHT Cheerleaders and twirlers for the annual Powderpuff game were iBack row!
