January lflass Hlslnry Another year has come and gone and as we the January graduatung class of I947 march unto the famuluar Spafford l-lall on our graduatuon nught we realuze how short thus year has been lt seems lulce only yesterday that we furst came to Sweetwater a rather scared bunch wuth a funny new feelung un the puts of our stomachs But w gradually became acquaunted and realuzed how much fun hugh school could be Then we were Junuors and acquured the feelung that we were pretty hot stuff We were no longer lowly Sophomores but had someone lower than we on whuch to exert our superuoruty of beung upperclassmen Our Junuor year was the furst year we really began to do thungs Some of us became unterested un clubs several toolc up uournalusm others engaged un AS B actuvutues and stull a few others entered unto sports And then all too soon and before ut really seemed possuble we were senuors We were the senuor As the hughest and mughtuest class un the school Our Senuor A yells werent the loudest but they were long and lusty and straught from the heart We were havung a wonderful tume lcnowung most of the lcuds and the teachers feelung that thus was our school and hopung that ut wouldnt be over all too soon Our Senuor Play brought out the lughter sude of our talents and our two nught per formance on November 2l and 22 showed real abuluty of the wut and humor varuety come under the tutle Happy Daze Of course we had our dutch day And to the mountauns ala Pune Valley we traveled lt was a cold wunters day and vusuons of snowy fun whurled un our heads But the weather man had deserted us and the scattered patches we found were few and far between The oh so sore horseback ruders the tall tales the mulluons of puc tures and the Oh do you remember when storues upon our return were proof of a never to be forgotten day Our dreamy and delectable prom guven for us by the Senuor Bs at the Square was beyond all our fondest dreams The gals un theur swurlung frothy formals wuth beau tuful corsages the guys wuth sluclced haur and that scrubbed loolc the smooth musuc all mean pleasant memorues of our last regal formal affaur The fune fun we had at our banquet the suspense of the Award Assembly the solem nuty and beauty of the Vespers servuce and then GRADUATION And now as we sut upon the stage for the last tume and loolc out unto a sea of famuluar faces of fruends and teachers we loolc baclc upon our three memorable years at Su hu Well remember Bull and hus football playung Wahler and her energetuc ways Alan and the fune rob he dud as Senuor A prexy and many many other thungs As the strauns of the beloved Pomp and Curcumstance echo through the hall we the January Class of 47 bud you a fond farewell Sweetwater 27 Titled l-lappy Days, its madcap merriment and hilarious mix-ups could easily have
