The benzor Hzvtory In 1938 the Senlors cl 1950 began thelr educatlon Th1s group of students were of course a very brxlllant mlnded group they thought Those beglnnlng at Sweetwater were Loretta Fourxer Hazel Welch Doris Crook Frances Rothenberger john Frank Haag Dale Coffey Gerald Txpton and A V Lenderman Thelr flrst teacher was Mxss Loraxne Wells She was so proud of them by the time the year was over they had finally learned the A B C sl that she passed them all on to the second grade Thelr second year was much the same as the fmrst and thexr teacher was Miss Sparks The third year several more students came to Join thelr group They were Charles Alexander Geraldine Mandrell and Ruth Sparks from Mayfield Oklahoma They added quite an attraction WHERE? to the group The fourth year was just the same as usual but walt a mlnute What do they see? Yes' there is some one coming Who? Theta Faye Youngblood from Merrdlan Oklahoma and Monnle Crane from Ada Oklahoma In the1r flfth grade they added still another person to thelr group none other than Troy S1tes Then ln the second semester they added thelr muslclan Of course that was Ronnie Coffey The1r sxxth grade teachers were none other than thelr wonderful 1950 sponsors Mr and Mrs Orvllle Stewart ln the eighth grade they had another student to enter thelr class She was Pauline BIHIOD They wonder what effect they had on Paullne because she IS the same he1ght now Then came graduat1on from grade school Thls was of course an exciting tlme They thought they were really grown and were nearly as happy as they are this year The eighth grade valedlctorlan was Pauline Bmxon and the salutatorlans were Loretta Fourler and Monme Crane The Seniors of 1950 started thelr Freshman year scared to death They were as meek as llttle lambs but this dldn t last loo long as you have probably guessed They added another student to thelr group that year He was Lyndall Coffey our great spokes man They were very happy durlng their Freshman year and yes they thought they were the IT of hlgh school just as any other Freshman but now they know they were just as green and stupld as all the rest During thelr Sophomore year two more students came to Jom the ranks They were B11l1e jean jefcoat and Harry Barfxeld from Merldlan Oklahoma Then here comes Bllhe Cotts from .Clinton Oklahoma They thmk B1ll1e and Bllly were just a llttle astonlshed at them for the new students are quiet but full of fun whlle the rest of them lncludlng Harry are full of fun but rather norsy' When they were .IUHIOFS Betty jo Pruet from Retrop Oklahoma and Joyce Mlller from Portales New Mexxco moved ln Betty jo IS qulte a gal but we are wonderlng if she won t leave dear old Sweetwater for Carter' oyce IS the poet lf you don t belleve lt just read Reclpe for a Happy Class They have not had an addltlon durlng the Semor year and are stlll one of the most fun lovlng classes ever ln Sweetwater High! These Semors of 1950 thlnk they have been smart for none have made below an F on their report cards since they have been ln high school!
